Torrent downloads

Packages support torrent downloads. To download a package using torrent client, simply click "Download torrent" button, and open the torrent file with your favourite torrent client.

Data security

A torrent file downloaded from a package's page allows to download the package without any additional authentication. As torrent files are small, they are much easier to leak. The torrents expire after 30 days.

Technical details

Torrent files provided by the cloud are normal BEP 3 v1 torrents.

Announce URL points to the cloud's own private torrent tracker. The torrent is marked as private (as specified in BEP 27). DHT, peer exchange, and local service discovery are disabled for private torrents in compliant torrent clients, which should lower the risk of a data leak.

The torrent includes BEP 19 web seed URL to download the data from the cloud even when there is no other peers.

Both announce URL and web seed URL expire after a while for data security purposes. If it is necessary to continue seeding or downloading the torrent, simply download freshly generated torrent file from the cloud.
